Spiritual Care

Emotional and spiritual concerns are a natural part of life

At Seniors•At•Home, we understand that significant life transitions, as well as personal loss or illness, can have a profound effect on us. At such times, our accustomed ways of viewing life and our ability to cope may be challenged. We often feel the need to ask questions or express concerns that are not physical or practical in nature; we want to connect to something deeper within ourselves for strength and support.

Our Spiritual Care Services are designed to address these concerns

We help you address the many emotional and spiritual issues that may arise during these times of transition. Whether you seek guidance around religious questions or simply the warmth of human companionship and presence, you can feel comfortable calling on us for support. Some of the services we offer include:

  • Spiritual counseling

  • Emotional support

  • Human connection and compassionate presence

  • Guidance from the wellspring of spiritual traditions

  • Collaboration with community clergy

  • Funerals and memorial services

  • Anticipatory grief counseling

  • Bereavement support

Bereavement and Healing

Coping with the loss of a loved one may be one of the hardest experiences we face in our lifetime. Whether expected or unanticipated, the death of a close relative or dear friend can have a profound effect on us. Our Bereavement and Healing Program is here to help individuals and families of all faiths and backgrounds who are experiencing such grief and loss. We provide one-on-one support that allows those in mourning to express their feelings openly and to explore the practical, psychological, and spiritual issues that often arise at these times.

In addition to individual counseling, Seniors•At•Home offers bereavement support groups that give mourners the opportunity to seek solace and healing with others who have also experienced a significant loss. The eight-week groups run twice a year, starting in May and November, on Mondays, 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at our San Francisco office. Call us, or visit our Upcoming Events page for information on the next group.
