Volunteer Services
Seniors•At•Home, a program of Jewish Family and Children's Services, is the Bay Area's most comprehensive provider of compassionate, quality care to older adults. The mission of Seniors•At•Home is to help older adults live safe, independent lives in their own homes. Volunteers of all ages play a vital role in carrying out this mission.
Palliative and End of Life Care Compassionate Companions Specially trained volunteers are matched with seniors in declining health to provide practical, emotional and spiritual support at one of life's most difficult times. Volunteers offer presence, companionship, or respite for a family member or friend. Senior Companions Compassionate volunteers are carefully matched with you, our senior client, based on location and common interests. You and your volunteer can then coordinate convenient weekly meetings to spend quality time together. Don't miss this opportunity to form a new lasting relationship! Holiday Visitors Individuals, families, and groups visit nursing and retirement homes, and seniors in their own homes, during the holidays to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, Chanukah, and Passover with Jewish seniors. Safe At Home Telephone Reassurance Callers Volunteer callers provide friendship and a sense of security for seniors through regularly scheduled phone calls. (San Francisco and Peninsula only) Be the Wheels Volunteers drive seniors to medical appointments and help them with grocery shopping. (San Francisco and Marin only) Are you interested in becoming a Seniors•At•Home volunteer? Click here to learn more. |
